Dinner and Historical Show at the U Pavouka Medieval Tavern | July 4 – 19:30
While Prague is a modern city looking to the future, it has not forgotten its history. In Prague, the new and the old go together hand in hand. And so shall ICCS. After a day filled with the latest on computational science, we leave the conference venue, enjoy a short early-evening walk through Prague’s charming Old Town (“Staré Mesto”) and travel back in time at the U Pavouka Medieval Tavern.
The dinner program features a 5-course menu with traditional Czech food, unlimited drinks (incl. soft drinks and beer), and a 2.5-hour historical show with sword fighting, belly dancing, medieval music, juggling, fire performance, and more.
We leave from the conference venue (registration desk at CUNI-FL) at 19:30 sharp, walk 15 minutes through Prague’s Old Town, and arrive at the U Pavouka Medieval Tavern shortly before 20:00. The dinner and show go on for 2.5 hours until 22:30, at which time the event ends.
Since the U Pavouka is very close to the center, ICCS participants will be able to simply walk their way back to their accommodation or use public transportation if they are staying a little farther away.
The U Pavouka is located at:
Celetná 597/17, 110 00 Staré Město, Praha, Czechia
Instructions on how to get there will be provided later to all registered dinner participants. Once at the conference, please also check the registration desk for the latest updates.
We are working hard to make this a memorable experience. Travelling back in time at the U Pavouka can only make for a promising start.
